A sample of my daughter's pastel work. Click on the image to see it larger. Now if only I could figure out how to get this text ABOVE the damn picture!
All totaled I have about 10 years experience drawing editorial cartoons for 2 newspapers. I drew two to three cartoons weekly for the Daily Local News in West Chester for nearly five years. I also contributed one to two cartoons weekly for the Trentonian Newspaper in Trenton, N.J. for about the same amount of time. I quit the Daily Local and the Trentonian quit me (I am one of the many editorial cartoonists to have lost their gig due to tightening belts at newspapers). Anyway- I'm freelancing my work through Artizans.com now. I hope to use this blog opportunity to experiment more with drawing style and coloration of my cartoons. I also hope this blog will generate some discussion about cartooning--editorial or otherwise. Please feel free to comment on any of the cartoons posted here. Cheers!
About Me
Graduated Art School in 1977. Have managed to keep my head above water by drawing cartoons and humorous illustrations and working as a graphic designer ever since. I've written and illustrated greeting cards, tee shirts, posters, comic strips, paper products and party goods. I am member of the AAEC (http://www.editorialcartoonists.com/) and I am also represented by Artizan's.com(http://www.artizans.com/). Samples of my work can be found on both of their websites.
