The top two cartoons are oldies- but fit the category of going "too far" (at least in the eyes of some newspaper editors). Neither was published. I drew the first cartoon in response to the deaths of three kids that accidentally locked themselves in the trunk of an abandoned car in Camden, NJ. The car was the FIRST place the Police looked, but guess what?.. they didn't try opening the trunk. This after guidelines for them to follow in such emergencies were recently published. Although it was in Camden, I thought it would be funnier as "Camdumb"--but I chickened out and left it as Camdum-- I regret that.

I submitted the black and white version of this to my paper when Jim McGreevey made his announcement in August, 2004 that he was resigning as Governor because he was gay (NOT because he was inept AND crooked). My editors liked it- but thought it went too far with the punch line. This color version is the result of experimenting with a program called Painter.
